Recipe: Oriental Tiger Prawns

Plated Up!
Stage two of BGWT allows you to have more flexibility, so i've created a recipe which is both filling and extremely quick to make, with flavour and it will give you a different mindset to healthy food being 'boring, and bland'.
  Prep Time: 10mins | Cooking Time: 10mins
Serves 2

You'll Need:

  • Raw King Tiger Prawns - no shell, no head just the flesh and remember to remove the back vein!
  • Oriental Stir Fry
  • 1 tsp Chilli Flakes - can use fresh chilli
  • 2 tsp Chinese 5 Spice
  • 1 tsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Fish Sauce
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Method:

  1. Clean your prawns and give them a wash with a little bit of lemon juice. Don't forget that vein
  2. Lightly dry with a paper towel and season with all the ingredients and allow to marinate for a minimum of an hour.
  3. Heat up a griddle pan with the olive oil - a normal frying pan can also be used.
  4. Once hot, place the prawns in and fry for 2 minutes each side.
  5. While your prawns are cooking fry your stir fry in a different pan on a low heat - this will allow the veg to cook, but still have some crunch!
  6. Once the prawns are pink, and have a golden skin on each side, turn the pan off. and plate up!
